
This is the website for Region 6 ARES/RACES, Amateur Radio groups. Here, we'll have information about training, community service and anything else that relates to the Amateur Radio Emergency Services.
I need every ham in Pierce County to PLEASE send me an ">email (click on the link) with your equipment you can take with you (radios, antennas, etc), and please break it down to HF and VHF/UHF... Give me your name, callsign, phone number, and equipment, broken down by HF, VHF/UHF.
Volunteers must be registered emergency workers. Those who volunteer for the list should be physically and mentally ready for the conditions they may face. In addition to their field deployment kit they should have a 72 hr. kit.
Tim Link, of the Department of Emergency Management has stated that he will utilize us for communications for any situation (fire, EOC building, etc). This can include the TAC bus that DEM has, or staffing the Pierce County EOC.
The Pierce County ARES/RACES Net is every Tuesday night at 7:00pm PST or 0300 UTC. They meet on the 145.37 repeater, with a negative offset. The Zone 6 ARES/RACES Net is every Monday night at 7:30pm PST or 0330 UTC. They meet on simplex at 146.58.
